Project Overview

A manufacturing facility contracted Batfix to commission a new CNC milling machine. The project demanded more than just mechanical assembly; it required high-precision calibration of all components to ensure the machine met industrial accuracy standards.

Technical Audit & Preparation

Installing heavy industrial machinery always begins with the foundation:

  • Foundation Analysis: Evaluating the site for vibration stability.
  • Power Audit: Preparing a dedicated power line to handle peak spindle and cooling system loads.
  • Grounding: Implementing a proper grounding circuit to protect sensitive CNC electronics from EMI.

Commissioning Stages:

  1. Leveling: Positioning the machine using precision leveling tools to prevent frame distortion and premature guide rail wear.
  2. Geometric Calibration: Verifying axis perpendicularity and spindle runout.
  3. Electrical Wiring: Assembling power circuits and connecting the control cabinet.
  4. Software Integration: Configuring post-processors and calibrating tool-length sensors (Z-zero).

The Result:

The machine was successfully commissioned and brought up to full operational capacity. During test milling, accuracy tolerances were confirmed within 0.02 mm.
